Friday Food Safari – Take Home Meals

This is normally where we share the details of our Friday Food Safari menu but this week is a bit different. We’re currently responding to an increase in community members having to self-isolate due to the closure of several businesses and schools. So we’ll be donating all of this Friday’s meals to support multicultural families in isolation.

 

If you can, you can donate a meal to someone in need via our website (https://lcms.org.au/fridayfoodsafari-2/). A big thank you to our regular patrons – we’ll be back soon with some delicious offerings for your Friday! 😊​

  1. ORDER A MEAL
    Pre-order on website 
    OR just come to the Old Church on the Hill on Friday between 11am – 2pm – if you do not pre-order you can call Jase on the Friday (0409 357 108) to make sure there are still meals available. Pay by card on pick up.
  2. DONATE A MEAL
    Donate on our website lcms.org.au/about/donate/ and write in the description you would like to support ‘Friday Food Safari’ OR donate by card when you pick up your meal at The Old Church on the Hill
  3. COLLECT YOUR MEAL
    Pick up your meal 11am-2pm @ Old Church on the Hill. Take home and reheat.
  4. PAY FOR YOUR MEAL
    Pay what you can afford- each meal is valued at $12, pay less if you can’t afford $12 or if you are feeling generous, buy a meal or a week’s worth for someone in need. Pay via card only, meals available until sold out
  5. CONNECT
    Post a photo with the hashtag #communitiessupportingcommunities on facebook.com/lcmsbendigo or instagram.com/friday_food_safari/. Make an online date with a friend and “share” your meal

Dear Food Safari Family,

As you are aware, we are in a difficult and delicate time. In this time, we are taking the health, safety and well-being of you, our loyal customers, the broader community and ourselves, very seriously.
With COVID-19 at the forefront of topic, myself and everyone else at Multicultural Services are taking a number of steps to safe-guard the health and safety of community around us.
I have been liaising with our local environmental health officer from the City of Greater Bendigo, to gather any material that may further help us maintain a safe and hygienic workspace, more than we already do.
On arrival for your meal pickup, please enter the ‘The Old Church on the Hill’ feast space hall from Russel St. There will be hand sanitiser at the front, please use before entering. We also have signs up providing guidance for entry and exit doors only. Follow the distance marker tape on the floor, keeping enough space between each individual. Make your way  inside the hall until you come to the pickup station. Card only method will allow contactless payment for everyone, so please don’t forget your credit/debit card. Once collected, please continue to follow social distancing to the exit only door and your way home with a meal and a community online dinner date.
